New Exige ordered today

Hi Quo,
i was told my build would be the end of july…but to be honest i wont be holding my breath as a few people has said they ordered in april and still have not got a build date,
but lets hope it is sooner

Well done, another person gets a proper sports car

Should have bought an Orange one though.

Mark
Would have done but the naggin tackle said there is no way she’s being seen in a bright orange car!!! It’s thanks to Jan’s generosity that i can get the Exige so I’ll have to play the game.

So you should get Krypton Green then!!! It isn’t orange

Yes You are perfectly correct as a law abiding person I would never do that kind of speed on the public highway, Or have anyone from this site believe that this was done othere than on my private eastate And must agree that all owners of lotus cars always drive to the highest of standards And I do appologise if my post seemed to imply any different but the high speed was on my private air strip on my eastate . I have to say Exige looks great in almost any colour bar PINK

Well i went and ordered a s2 exige today, saffron yellow, performance pack, air con, Q/R steering wheel, motorsports exhaust, probably going to get a soft top too as after looking at hard top the air intake is purely cosmetic with no purpose what so ever.

Well done, and a nice spec
Which sports exhaust are you getting? AFAIK only the ‘stage 1’ version is available as yet. It’s a lot lighter than standard, but a bit too quiet IMO. The stage 2 version should be better, hopefully.

What is with those roof mounted air intakes? Half of the cars I’ve seen have the opening blanked off, and half don’t. I spoke to an engineer from Lotus who was very surprised when I pointed this out. He said they were supposed to be functional

Hi Brendan,
In all honesty i have no idea which exhaust it is, perhaps i should check. Im still getting grief from the mrs over the colour the pressures on to change to titanium or graphite.
Trudy the dealer i belive said ‘transfer to sales’ when i ordered the exige, the actual date was 19th july but he said due to the demand of cars for the US that it may be later, so he said i should expect early part of august.

Not sure about the air intake but the one i saw on the hardtop taken from the demo was definately blanked off and was serving no purpose at all, seems strange.

Have to say thanks to SI also, i know hes just sold his S1 and i always pester him at work for ideas on what to buy car wise, so SI cheers for helping with the colour choice and for putting up with my constant pestering, are you sure you dont want the RS4?

Christian

RS4 ::: is that a Escort RS Turbo ???

Ha Ha,
Not unless an escort rs turbo has changed into a nagaro blue 2.7l twin turbo audi estate. 450hp

Christian

Quo , I know what you mean about the air intake, it looks like it dose nothing. But when I took my roof and had a closer inspection I think it just looks blanked of but Infact just fannels the air through some kind of filter to stop crap going in to the engine bay. But it certainly has no direct flow to any thing other than the engine bay

On the S1, the roof scoop is mainly used to cleverly feed air down the rear cabin window to keep it cooler. Could be the same thing on the S2.

in that case you’ll be needing a decent plate for it - i have EX51GER for sale - see post in “for sale / wanted”

cheers
