New Engine - New Car

Just come across this:

It’s a very brave set of people that go into car manufacturing these days…

This is neither a supercar or a cottage industry sportscar. I’m not sure who it’s aimed at. It seems too similar to things you can buy from mainstream manufacturers, probably much cheaper and higher quality.

They have some very interesting engine technology though. This is probably their unique selling point. I think the car might just be a showcase for the engine until Ford, GM or VW come along with their cheque book to buy the engine technology…
Good luck to them I say!

A work colleague of mine went to the official lauch of this car. Apparently it is going to cost 40k+ which seems quite cheap. Apparently the car looks stunning. As ever, I’ll reserve judgement until I see one in the flesh…

I’m obviously missing something - what’s the point of a 2 litre V10 putting out 162bhp and 144 ft lbs of torque?

Is the body shape similar to the Europa?

Don’t know - I haven’t actually seen it myself - all herersay I’m afraid. But, small multi cylinder engines are very smooth…

…and the fact that it’s totally unique. It’s a hybrid too with an electric motor.

I can’t work it out at all. A commercial flop, but an engineering Tour de Force?

It’s what we brits are good at!

Bet it sounds nice!

Good luck to them I say !

that’s what i thought too Steve but the GT is better

Max power 300bhp at 7000rpm (223kW)
Max torque 371Nm at 3000rpm (274lb ft)

and only 950kg

That’d do it!
