Pesky, thats what I was getting at !!A Clio V6 will be terrible on a track - remember I went to Spain with one and it couldn’t keep up with the (slightly higher boosting) Elan.Kieron, I thought it was that sort of number. The guy I know with one said that they initially only released 200 and he got his in June or July when more were made.Ian, I doubt the people at Renault F1 would have any idea how many were made. They just get them as company cars and drive them. But I only saw one in 3300 miles through France and Spain, so what Kieron says is probably correct. SOOTY
yep justlooked in autocar and the uk is the biggest market in the world for the v6 a spokesman said that most customers were upgrading from a williams clio. anyone know what the sound of the v6 would be like? it has twin chrone exhausts but is it a sports exhaust or has the 3.0 24v been deeply silenced? would be very disappionting to have a 255bhp 3.0L 24v monster and have it sound like a ford focus.
It’s just occured to me that perhaps the V6 does in fact have a little Lotus history.I seem to remember (now don’t get upset some of you when I mention it) that the M250 was going to use the Renault engine.Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]ps. Okay Sooty, I stand corrected (currently!) the V6 maybe rarer than an Exige in the UK. I’m just protective of my car on many levels! Clio V6’s posting quicker lap times than motor sport Elises at Donnington at the weekend!!!Both modified from road of course!!Clio in particular has been on a significant diet from road spec.
So just imagine what the M250 would have done!
For real exclusivity and presence you ought to look at the amazing Chrysler Neon R/T. The R/T stands for road and track. Here is an awsome 2.0l track monster with a rear wing that keeps the car firmly planted to the tarmac under any condition. All this performance for 13995 !!(removes tongue from cheek)
ok guys so do you think the clio v6 will sound good? im really hoping that it has that deep throat grunt.
I’m sure I read somewhere that Lotus were involved in taming the Clio V6. I understand that it “used” to be tail happy… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/shocked.gif[/image]CheersChris
