Anyone know how much a new chassis costs and what are the procedures?
Do you get the same chassis number stamped as your old chassis?
Does it come with the fiberglass sides?
Now that I have my car in pieces, Im thinking of getting a new one depending on price. The current chassis in my exige is a bit scratched up everywhere on the sills in the interior and there is some corrosion on the driver side floor as well as the dreaded dynamat in the seat area which is taking quite a bit of time to take off. Apart from touching up or spraying it seems impossible to fix.
A new chassis would be sort of like a new car also. Make it more properly mine
Enquired about this recently myself, its 3500 + vat comes complete with crash structure, screen surround and sills.
Comes complete with chassis number of donor car stamped in and you have to give the old chassis back to them.
So my 7K wasn’t far off, even for an S1 when you factor in the (true) cost of labour in stripping the old chassis, & fitting brake lines, wishbones etc etc to the new one?
This obviously explains why the cars are written off if there is chassis damage.

But Im doing the work myself so it will not cost anywhere near 7k
I think 3.5k - 35% is not THAT much for a new chassis. Might do it.
One question for you Chris. Do you have to send the whole chassis or is the chassis no part enough?
The probelm I have is that I made it a point that the car I buy I take it back to factory condition.
Most of us prefer to improve upon that
PS Joseph - why don’t you come to the UK in June for the LOT race at Oulton? Would be great to see you, Frank & DaveOz joining in the fun with the rest of us idiots!
that seems very cheap for a new chassis if id of known they were that cheap id of changed the chassis on that black Audi elise instead of buying another car and changing the engine over. I should of looked into it a bit more.

Its in my plans actually. I just need to confirm it wont clash with my MBA final exams. Here its a bit hopeless to get dates until a week before the actual exams.
Just sourced a brand new tub for 1100 quid so the job’s not looking too bad now. Just gotta rip out that daft Honda conversion and put in a proper one.
