Enjoy. Great mod.
From what I hear MIL should be on within a week (if you drive it).
I’ll speak to Paul about dyno as my car is in there atm! Its just had a de cat fitted so will be interesting to see results. I’ll have to stack 300 miles on it first tho.

I’m surprised if you don’t get a MIL soon for running lean.
You might not get a MIL…I didn’t altho when it went on Sincs dyno the AFR was showing it was running lean and that was after driving it nearly 400 miles to see if the ECU would make the appropriate adjustments.
Anyone old enough to remember the “Gunson,s colour tune?”
… it was a spark plug with a clear window so as you could view the flame … ah those were the days !!!
If it was lean change the jet/turn the screw … nowadays , if its lean splash a grand to a guy with a playstation !!!
Blimey … they still do em !
btw - mine sounds F"$ing awesome through the rev range, its snarls and then screams. More like a V6 than a 4 pot.
^^^ know that sound ^^^
What I,m also really liking is the resonance of the motor transmitting through the car (courtesy of powerflex fitted at the same time)
very involving
Without dragging up old comments /debates , would you happen to know “how lean” yours was ?
I suppose what I,m trying to ascertain is :
Scenario 1 … lean condition , room for improvement .
Or:
Scenario 2… STOP , damage imminent …
Just after wider knowledge that’s all …
Peace Exigers !
Cruise at 30mph in 5th gear and floor it. If you can hear metallic rattling/tinkling then that is detonation and this is bad!
You may be OK but you’ll miss many ponnies & torque with it not mapped.
If I hear detonation in any gear I,m gettin a tow to JSR !
This thread is going to cost me money I can just see it
Looks great though JFK and I’m really interested to hear how you get on with it with the 260 map.
How are your powerflex mounts as well? Are they the inserts or full yellow replacements? My mounts are on order so I’m looking forward to getting those fitted as well
CN’s have just fitted me the Elise shop mounts, I Have not yet got the car but paul called to ask what they were as they felt they were much better than the powerflex ones.

Mounts are the yellow inserts …only around 40 .
No problems at all, even fitting them isn’t too bad .
I’ve got the Powerflex yellow inserts sitting in my passenger seat atm. I’m working up the bottle to look for the mounts! lol
Doddle really …
You need a 14 mm socket
14 mm ring spanner (not essential)
A 1 inch ish extension
To remove the brackets
Mounts are 19 mm I think bolts
…
Easier than removing the old manifold anyhow !!
Erm, there are Powerflex “inserts” and Powerflex “mounts”.
I have the latter (more expensive) and I think most people have the former (cheaper).

There’s no such thing as an “ok” amount of lean running!
But to answer your question I don’t know the exact figures just that Wayne said I was lucky to have not damaged the engine. You could call him for more info.

Yep. I believe you had the last set of mounts from Essex Autosport Mine are currently on order and we’re hoping that they’ll be available in about 6 weeks time.
