Need new tyres....Lts? A048? R888?

The rears have gone on my s2 (225/45/r17)
I am not going to go for another set of LTS because the cost a fortune and are rare as hens teeth.

So was either going to go for an M/MH compound a048?

But i know alot of you guys on here rate the toyo R888?
Do these come in different compounds? or just one, how do you rate these against the a048s? in terms of grip/wear
I am tempted to go R888s
i used the car for road/track days

Any advice apperciated

cheers

I’ve only used R888’s and they seem ok to me, I was thinking of getting A048’S (just for comparison), but as you said cost is high and availability is hit and miss.

Answered your own question there

PS If you go for non LTS 48s, choose the MH (the LOTRDC racers use M, but they won’t last as long!)

Cheers guys, so do the R888s just come in one compound? wheres the best place to get them?
Think is R888 time for me, see why all you guys rave about them

+1
All 4 of my 48’s are on the markers, so I am also looking to save some money!

It appears that the Toyo’s are either GG (competition) or SG (soft competition) - so it will be GG’s for me as I want them to last?

I suggest that you use Camskills (will deliver, next day, throughout UK)

Or if you are in the Lancs area, drop me a pm

Yeh was thinking camskill. Cheers mr pesky.
Will it matter much running R888s on rear and A048s on front? GG compound u run isit?

I wouldn’t have thought running 48s front, 888s rear will be problem - never mixed them myself though.

Unless there’s been a cock up, I’m not running with the softies

I havent noticed any difference at all running R888’s to be honest, they seem a little harder maybe…

I am currently running AO48 LTS front and R888 GG at the rear and cant tell any different to how it was before (I am not a driving god though)

With the weather/road conditions as they have been for the last 2 months, I doubt if anyone has pushed their cars towards the limit in the UK - even on track

No doubt all that will change (says he hopefully), & we’ll have the sun cracking the flags over Easter!
