Nearly there......

I hate January with a passion…but it’s now almost February…

Fired my Exige up today for the first time since November. Needed a new battery (big thanks MarcP, you’re a star), but it started after a couple of seconds :sunglasses:

Didn’t drive anywhere, but bloomin eck, it made me feel “happy” again, just seeing/hearing it “alive”

A “decent” footie result, with 3 points, was also good news (Con - well done, but you ain’t got a result yet, just another kick about  )

Hi Rob,

Mine hasn’t been hot for some time either. And, to make matters worse, I’m going into hospital on Tuesday for a knee replacement operation so goodness knows when I’ll be back between the sills…

Good luck with the knee replacement op. A mate of mine had one
{he’s just over 60) and is now back playing squash (and he still bloody beats me).Just be persistent with the physio as it can be slow progress.
Look forward to seeing you (and the blue beauty) out later this year. Exiges.com 10 year anniversary, for starters.

Hope all goes well, Mike.

No wonder we pay so much tax - you’re costing the NHS a bloody fortune… only kidding, mate

PS Is Carol working on a “10th” polo shirt design?

Good luck with the Op Mike… I think post op physio will also involve right ankle flex exercises!!!

Fired mine up yesterday… took the (Exige like) hardtop off! and went out for a quick 10 minute blat… that turned into an hour long blast at sunset! Forgotton why the Elise is such a great car… not a lot beats going topless!

It felt really fast for the first 20 minutes… then I began to visualise being passed by all you 190 - 350 BHOP boys! :frowning:

Thanks for best wishes guys. I’m sure the new knee will be fine…

Yes Rob, all joking aside you’re absolutely right. I’ve had more than my share of NHS funding over the last seven years. Depite its obvious flaws its a marvellous institution and all the medical staff have been brilliant; caring, clever, supportive and ever hopeful. I’m not lucky to be alive - I was saved by experts. If anyone ever tells you that the NHS is broken tell them to **** off. They could do with some new managers and a serious funding sort out though; they get enough money but they don’t spend it terribly wisely - unless it’s on me, of course!

Polo shirt - now there’s a thought. I feel a design task, during convalesance, coming on…

All the best Mike!

Hope to see you back out there soon.

Ian

Yes, all the best Mike, having my sister just gone through and survived some serious illness I have to agree with you …

Ive nearly worn out my last Polo shirt(s) so will need to stock up this year !

Good luck wit the knee mate.

I fired mine up for the first time in bloody months last week. Battery needed charging, but then fired on the button, god I love it!!!

Took the Exige out last week end - the first one withoutr sonow for a while for us. The 10 minute blast became another hour trip & smiles from ear to ear!

Bring on the good weather!

Anglesey not too far off now…

Mark

Yeah good luck Mike - look forward to seeing you back between the sills for Anglesey.

I took the cover off of mine today and optimistically turned the key…battery was dead of course but it looked great

Good luck Mike…did you say “polo shirt”?

well after a 3 month rebuild finished just in time for the autosport show i had to drive it back from birmingham with almost zero testing, not the most intelligent things to do granted!!

Took it straight to JS Racing for a fresh GEO only to find it has an oil leak (sandwich plate seal we think), a worn toe link joint & it needs a new steering rack, bugger :frowning:
Still it will all get sorted soon enough!

marc.

After jump starting mine (what a suprise another flat battery!) I took it for a spin yesterday to blow the cobwebs out.

En route I couldn’t resist doing two passes under the Manchester airport runway tunnels to hear that sweet stage 2 exhaust note… childish but fun

I made sure I didn’t do a Ronaldo!

You lucky, lucky barstuweards - started mine this weekend :frowning:

First its been standing outside in this rubbish weather - paintwork has bubbled - osmosis

Started on the button - but sounds so rough, won’t rev at all - appears a valve or spring has gone. It was running absolutely perfick in December.

Looks like it will be Skeggy for hols this year lol

Had mine out today for the first time in a couple of months. Only got as far as the paper shop and the petrol station (sad I know) but nice to get the chance to sit in it for a bit.

Ahhh… it was you that I saw filling up with Optimax near Lands End yesterday

Snow finaly cleared in the Lakes so was able to rescue mine after 6 weeks hibernation. Fired first time and was a joy to drive back even through 60 miles of “pea soup”.

Best wishes for the op Mike.

Took mine for a short trip for the first ime this year, & for once actually got to try the new ponies. All in all the car feels just as before. Only noticably much quicker, so I’m a happy boy.
