Nardo circuit!

Never heard of this place until recently. Now owned by VW/Porsche.

Reckon I could the Exige up to 141mph on there (eventually)

Lots of images here https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=nardo+circuit&hl=en&biw=1283&bih=1247&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Jz_RUq3GE8Xm7Aa-jYDABw&ved=0CDAQsAQ

Southern Italy though so a bit of a road trip! :frowning:

I like the way the driver crosses himself before he sets out. Blink and you miss it

Had mine round the Millbrook bowl and it was quite a bit scarier than I imagined. At 100 it’s neutral but once you get much north of that you get very conscious that you are constantly cornering and there are some reasonable bumps. Got north of 130 but can’t remember the final numbers.

Remember the mk3 Astra dealer launch and they were talking about some of the testing that they did on them. Including taking all new spec engines to Nardo for some high speed, high temperature testing.

Went something along the lines of fill with fuel, drive onto bowl, drive as fast as that model would go 120-130 ish until fuel warning light came on, drive off bowl at GM test area at speed, straight into garage, turn off and close garage door. Monitor temps from under bonnet sensors remotely. Test failed if garage burns to ground with car inside  All is good and cars signed off.

Certain German car manufacturer was there on the same week, laughing saying how easy that would be, for our Autobahn proven vehicles. Temperature probes duly fitted, tank brimmed, car goes off, returns, into garage, engine straight off. Cue lots of red flashing numbers on screen, followed by failed cooling system. Shame :unamused:

as much as destroying cars in novel ways sounds fun, i’m sure it’s more like 10,001 check points on clipboards

looks pretty similar to milbrook,

Its identical to Milbrook, only much bigger and much warmer climate.

Its only purpose in life is to come up with new and novel ways at seeing if cars break

I have seen that many times from 37,000 feet… always thought it was another sort of ‘above ground LHC’!

I misread the thread and thought you were organising a chicken based pub crawl called the Nando Circuit
