Hey how come I look like a street corner pimp with adds in my postings now ?
Did I whore my self out ?..
I sell nothing and if these adds continue I will quit Exiges.
Calm down Frank
The adds are being put in to help pay for the site by Mr Admin, they are on the first and last (if there is more than 8 posts) post on each page, also they are just ebay links to stuff on ebay with the name Exige in the title
Ok fine but couldn’t they be links to porno instead…?
Might be ok for you, but some of us need to read the forum at work sadly
Yahh maybe I should get a job…nahhh
EFA
Dude I put one back on the car…what you doing editing ma post boy ?
Frank, What happened to your flappy paddles?
I had to remove the dam gear box due to a bad syncro caused by the sequential shifting into gear when the clutch peddle was depressed beyond a set point…
The release bearing was walkin back under vibration pushing the clutch lever against the slave cylinder piston rod which emptied the cylinder back up into the master… So on the next shift foot goes to the floor without the clutch being fully disengaged and shift happens…Guys double check the sleeve on your release bearings and make sure the edges of the bearing race has a smooth chamfered edge, it’s because of a very sharp edge that caused the bearing to bite into the input shaft sleeve just enough to wiggle back and stay there keeping the slave cylinder from filling…
I have a feeling that this may be an issue on Toyota gearboxes with syncro wear, without a full slave cylinder the clutch is not fully disengaged and a quick shift will get a slight snick and then becomes a grind and the syncros are shot…
The slave cylinder needs a stronger piston return spring in my opinion…
While the new engine was being done I said it’s back to basics and tore it out…
Now I have the fix and it is a simple adjustable stop…at least now the next guy will know the proper R$D has been done…
Here is the proper fix I came up with, this will allow for wear slack…
