Hi, just doing a bit of fettling on the car pre-Anglesey and noticed this pipe for the first time. I’ve never noticed it before and can’t imagine what it is used for. I’m thinking it might have become a bit more obvious since I had the clam off at Phoenix recently. Apologies for quality of first picture. The pipe is visible to the left to the rear of the front O/S wishbone.
Anyone got a clue?

Or the washer hose has cone off and magically lengthened itself

Interesting, never realised an S1 would have this pipe. My Car has similar, but it’s a drain for the AC system and connects to the bottom of the HVAC box.
Windscreen gutter sounds feasible 
Though it was for the original battery vent but could be mistaken.

Thommo it connects to bottom of heatet box, usally its convoluted pipe so maybe been changed.

I think it must be a simple drain from the gutter beneath the windscreen.
When I took a closer look at my second picture there is a clip that I imagine is intended to hold the pipe in place, maybe it’s jumped out and extended its run, I’ll do some further fettling.
Wheels were off for a re-balance so that’s how I came to be under the car
