My Xmas pressie for my Lotus

Well for me really.

Took the standard belts out and simply disconnecting the sensor to the drivers buckles means the seatbelt warning light and buzzer no longer comes on. The problem I have now is removing and disconnecting the seatbelt pretensioner thingies means the air bag light is now on.

Vert annoying. I called Lotus technical about fitting belts to a car with air bags and told them I plan to remove the standard belts and they said no problem.

My car is in for first service at Nick Whales between Xmas and New Year so will ask them.

put a 3.3 or 6.6ohm resistor in place of the plug. creats a ghost tensioner

does that work? reminds me of a story told during the lotus factory tour where somewhere took the live feed for the pretensioner as a duplicate live for his handsfree… car wouldnt start as pre-check on that circuit failed

Thanks, I’ll try that.

I will get some of those when I next go to the Ring, but had planned to leave the standard 3 points in-situ for road driving.

Is this possible, are the fixing points and bolts capable of taking both?

All you ecu wants to see is a bit of resistance in the circuit usually created by the firing mech in your pre tensioner/ air bad…the resistor simply ghosts…but it might not work with 3.3 or 6.6…but will with other values…im used to renault’s they use those values.

So do you mean a lower value?

No standard bolts don’t have enough room. MSAR sell a kit with modded bolts to allow both to be fittedd.
