My "S" and the quest for more power

Chris

I did consider the Komo-tec kit, but after looking at it properly I wasn’t happy with the way they had constructed the charge cooler or where the heat exchanger rad was installed. I think the design of the CC is compromised as it is just a jacket of water around an air to air cooler which won’t be as efficent as a correctly designed one, plus it still sits so high up and just increases the top heavy nature of the IC. The front heat exchanger is just behind the rad where it is very prone to stone damage also I fear it will not work well in traffic as it will get heat soaked as it has no fans.

Hi Adrian

All makes sense even to a mechanical muppet like me !!

I think I will start as you did if I can work up the courage to ignore any warranty issues

Anybody else took the risk & regreted it ?

Thanks again

Chris

Well I suppose it is all about how you and your dealer get on, I suspect they will kind of ignore the CC Exhaust and panel filter, its only when you start playing with the ECU the might get upset, also there is a GT3 silencer in the forsale section at the moment

Well I actualy got the boost pressure guage connected today. As usual I never took any before readings, however is was very conclusive the pressure is at a constant 6psi till the cam change then 4.75 all the way to the redline. I left it running for a while to try to heat soak it as much as possible but still the same.
Not sure what to make of the results, but I’m sure it is now less (as expected) than standard.
Does anyone have any acurate readings from a standard car?

Ade where are you picking up your reading before or after the chargecooler ?

After, Wayne added a threaded boss in the U bend for me to connect a gauge to.

you could pop the intercooler back on…
10 minute job!

I can’t, I haven’t picked it up yet
