Well the time finally came, it has been a while in the making but it is now here the “Gotham” tune is in.
There is good news, The car was dynoed on the same dyno as first time which is connected direct to the hubs and it made…
263.6whp @ 8000rpm and 171.4 lb-ft of torque @ 7930
The bhp was still climbing but to get a nice reading the operator finished before the limiter as he said he doesn’t like the jagged bits at the end. I also have the AFR as well.
Now if you use a flywheel hp correction of say 12% this would give 295fwhp and 191.9 lb-ft of flywheel torque.
Although it has been a long wait it certainly has been worth it I need to thank (in no particular order) Wayne from Sinclaire, Wayne from Proalloy, Jim from 2bular, CharlieX and Frank. You have all helped out in many ways
I am now so happy to get my car back and just want to drive it all the time.
The full spec of the car is
Exige S
2bular sports cat and 24*8 GT3 Exhaust
Proalloy charge cooler
CharlieX Gotham tune
440cc RC injectors
Green panel filter
Big numbers, very impressive.Hope you are going to get some miles on the car both on and off the track.I would be very interested to see how the bottom end holds up with the H/C pistons.Enjoy!
How does the car feel to drive?.. looks like more power and torque everywhere!
Take care,
Frank
From the limited driving I did yesterday, for normal driving it is exactly the same as it was before, but when you hit the loud pedal its accelarates like it did before in the gear below so fourth feels like third

The pistons should be fine as no change has been made to the boost pressure, if anything it has dropped due to adding the charge cooler which makes the air more dense. A large part of the gain has been made by making the engine far more efficent by removing the parasitic loses from the super charger when adding the charge cooler. Only time will tell
I plan on doing some track days asap and also trying to get to get ti to a drag strip to see what the real gains are in straight line speed.
wow, that’s awesome! and reading your other post etc and the general idea of costs it’s a damn site better value than the Performance Pack I have ordered on my car …
On that note, how would what you have done differ if done to a PP car? I’m a bit naive so am not entirely sure what they actually do for the PP…
How did the 2bular exhaust sound before you did the rest btw? am thinking about getting exactly the same one as you had but don’t want anything which is going to be a pain in the a$$ at motorway speeds.

The 2bular GT3 exhaust is not really that much noisier even with the sports cat, just lighter and less restrictive. IMHO if you added the charge cooler and exhaust to the PP you won’t be far behind the gains I have seen on my car. A large part of the gain is made due to removing the parasitic loss from the super charger when you add the charge cooler, we saw a 20whp gain just from that. It is not cheap to buy… but you will get the benefit of better power regardsless of conditions.
Well I think i’m going to have to give Jim a tap then. That said I did email him a week ago and he hasn’t replied, anyone know if he is away at the mom?
Does anyone know what the actual changes for the PP are?
Has anyone here fitted a GT3 charge cooler to there S2S? If so what gains in BHP did you see? GT3 Charge Cooler >
I considered using these guys, but they were impossible to get hold of plus it also meant I would need to fabricate or get made everything else, so Proalloy was the only choice
I’m interested in going down the same route you have but I’m a bit concerned about noise levels. With my standard Exige S exhaust I’m registering around 96.5db. When you’ve done a trackday or two could you post what sort of levels you’re getting. Thanks
When I ran at Bedford with the 24 * 7 Exhayst and the sports cat I was only 0.7db over the drive by limit with the standard car now with all the extra power and the 8 * 24 GT3 2bular and sports cat the car is so quiet I can’t see me being over at any circuit, you just have to let Jim know when you order the GT3 and he increaese the bore size of the internal pipe in the box.
ade, you don’t happen to have any pics of you car from the back showing the 2bular do you? Just trying to pick between the GT3 or the through diffuser style.
What do you do with the hole in the diffuser if you go for the GT3?

However the car will be on Sinclaire’s stand at donnington this weekend if you are going
Jim can supply an infill for the diffuser to make it look nice.
I’m Brian from Korea.
I know Jim at 2bular is busy every day…but, I couldn’t touch with Jim from e-mail last two weeks.
I ordered exhaust full kit for my Exige-S 2months ago and e-mail is the only way to contact with Jim.
I got last mail 2 and half weeks ago from Jim that my parts are almost ready to go.
So, if you could touch with Jim pass to him my massage, Pls.
Now I’m in hurry to wait…
