Standard engine/gearbox. 7x17 front wheels; 7x18 rear wheels; standard brakes; Proflex/Eibach suspension; Elise Parts steering rack, ties rods and other upgrade bits. Will soon have 1600 Vauxhall and 6-speed dogbox. Lotsa fun so far.

Nice looking car Monkeyman. Did you have to do much work to conform with the blue book? I guess it’s been built for tarmac rallying? Would love to see it driven in anger!
Seconded!
Thirded!! Awesome looking car.
How do you get on with clearence with the 18’s on the back? What size tyres do you run?
That’s cool.
Thanks all.
It started as a standard Elise then had the motorsport bodywork fitted (with split rear wheel arch for QD). It will soon be getting a 1600 Vauxhall and Sadev 'box, will rally it this weekend as-is. Current weight is 745Kgs, 1600 class weight is 800Kgs so I’ll be adding a steel floorpan.
As I guess most would know, 16" is a bastard wheel, hardly any tyres available. That left me with only 15" and 17" options and there are allot more rally tyres available for 17". It runs 200/615/17 Super1600 tyres on 7x17 wheels on the front; 220/640/17 GpA8 tyres on 8x17 wheels on the rear. Had to make some room in the bodywork at the rear, front was no problem.
The rollcage is by Harry Hockley, the seats and belts by Elise parts. The wishbones have been strengthened and the steering rack, tie rods and toe rods from Elise parts fitted. All six headlights have been fitted with HIDs and wired to run at the same time so I don’t need a light pod. No rear wing fitted, they don’t work sideways. I fitted a heated windshield, essential on a rally car.
That’s about it for now, looking forward to a few more horses!
Sounds really good mate!!! Lots of luck!!
The Sadev box is a work of art in my opinion, I would love one, but I run an Audi turbo with about 450bhp in the back of my car and Sadev said the box wouldn’t handle it. Doh!!!
I bloody hope it doesn’t!

Sadev transverse gearboxes are primariy rally 'boxes for Super 1600 and 2ltr kitcars. What kills gears is torque, bhp is a mathematica calculation thereof, turbo engines have allot of torque.
You really should hear Sean talk too
No doubt there’ll be plenty of opportunities when this year’s LOT Races are televised
Which seats did you fit in the rally car? I’m shopping for a pair of FIA approved seats for my rally car. In my S1 I had a pair of Corbeau sprints but I found them a real squeeze for my rear and damn uncomfortable after several hours rallying. No such problem for my navigator as he’s a skinny runt (sorry Gareth ) but that has it’s benefits on overall weight.
Most FIA seats are too wide in the shoulders to fit two together in the cabin. The Corbeau’s just squeezed in. I’d like some of the factory cup 260 FIA seats but they cost enough to fund a seasons worth of rally tyres. Unfortunately the limited run that was for sale on here recently weren’t approved.

The problem is you have to have some very expensive engine management to take advantage of that torque or it tends to work exactly when you don’t need it. The difference between a factory-sorted Mitsubishi or Subaru and its anti-lagged GpN rally brothers is night and day.

Mine are from Elise Parts, got through scrutiny fine. I had a bunch of different velcro seat pads from various cars so padded it in places to fit me better, co-driver did the same. Won’t know how comfortable it is until after two days in it this weekend.
Yeah I have about 350lb ft when I run the car at full hammer. My dodgy Emerald ECU just about keeps everything in check.
Mark as you well know I only run baby power for LOT, mind you I still have 300lb ft at about 3,900rpm.
Pesky, get back to your Bisto!!!
