My first dent today. Where to go for a repair

My first dent today. Where to go for a repair (exige S2)

I had to revers my car at the fuel stop this afternoon because some bonker overtook me at the pump and reversed his car and parked it so I had to go backwards to pass him.

By doing this I missed a pole in my reverse mirror and hit it.

Now the body has a a crack above the first rear light cluster (you can see the fiberglass) and a small under it. When I feel at the inside I feel some fibers.

How are these type of damages normally repaired? Will they laminate a small mat inside or will they exchange the whole rear section?

Whare to go for a repair (repair under insurance)?

It is a CUP car in Chrome Orange. Will Lotus Motorsport repair this kind of damage?

Any idea what kind of bill to expect.

Regards,

Quirin

A good bodyshop should be able to sort it.

You need to try a few in your area. Try and find a local recommendation.

I would suggest Lotus Sport would be able to but their labour rates would make it very expensive.

Yead if its small, then a decent body shop will be able to sort it for a few quid, I wouldn’t bother paying out your excess and having to deal with no claims issues. Where abouts are you based?

Did the drivers side sill and door, paid 400 I think…it’s no biggy…took 4 days. I guess with a paint job it’s never the same as it was. As Sean says post where you’re based and get a recommendation…good luck.

Unfortunately chrome orange is a pig to match and spray…
Be prepared for matching issues… :frowning:

I live in the Netherlands, but I am every forthnight in the UK, London area. I travell most of the time with the tunnel.
I will come to the UK tomorrow, so if you see a chrome orange Exige with a dent on the left side… it is me.

I think I will bring it back to hethel.

Cheers

I’d suggest Sinclaires or Maidstone Sports Cars, in the London area.

A vote for Sinclaires here as well, nice and easy to get into London as well 30 minutes by train

Yep another vote for Wayne at Sincs…their bodyshop did my front-clam respray and stripes…and a fine job they did too
