My Exige S - weight saving project

Thanks Ade

Yes noise will be taken into consideration. I will be looking into the differing performances also for the potential power gains.

The final choice of exhaust will be based on the weight, power effect and noise levels.

The car is to be used on UK circuits 2-3 times a month.

I might be able to help you out on a couple of boxes to use for test or buy from me second hand?

Sounds interesting, will talk to you when car arrives.

Ok

Carbon fibre seats also save approx. 14-15 kg.
Carbon fibre undertray & carbon diffuser save another 5 kg.
Aluminium Fuel tank saves 5 kg.
Carbon fibre brakes/discs save 15 kg (and are very expensive)
removing the sound deadening material should also save >10 kg
radio & speakers saves 5 kg.
removing the AC compressor with cables (should you have one installed) is another 10-15 kg.
a race battery saves 10 kg.

etc. (like i.e. plexy windows)

Just change the pulley and wave bye bye to all those anorexic S2 owners

the gt3 2ublar on my car was only 5.8kg

you need the exhaust to come out of the rear not the floor

as you get no down force with the diffuser with the exhaust commong out of the rear as the air flow is ruined.

this was tested with my car at mira which did give downforce because of the rear exit.

Interesting.

You get no downforce from the Lotus diffuser, you get less lift…
