My car keeps jumping out of 5th gear

I have checked linkages and everything seems to be ok, if I hold my hand on the gearlever it pops out of gear even when I am applying pressure, doesn’t happen in any other gear except 5th, any ideas chaps?

Before i bought my exige it was doing the same, but was poping out of 2nd. This lead to a full Gear box recondition at �1000

GBox is goosed.

Check in another thread I gave the details of an excellent guy to recondition the box.

This sort of things you can only see if you open the box really…

couldn’t it just be a worn selector spring?

Worn synchro would be my guess.

Only whilst “resting” his left foot on the clutch pedal

thanks guys, I bought it as a reconditioned box ,
thought that might be the case though

I have only just fitted this to my car with the new engine and has done it since I drove it for the first time, looks like I bought myself a knackered gearbox.

worn synchro would be my guess too - exactly the same happened to a Saxo VTS
