my car hates me...

My Dad had that happen at motorway speed aswell in a BX. The silly fool then went and got what ever the next one was, Xantia??? and it happened on that as well.

I went through car hell with my parents, they were so NOT into cars, my old man had some right pap motors!!

That explains everything…

May dad had a brown cortina with a beige vinyl roof, the shame

Cortina, that would of been heaven my dad had Austin 1800’s and Princesses.

He does no better now with Vauxhall’s

The horror and shame

I’m proud to say that my dad graduated from a Commer Cob van via Mini Cooper to an Elan+2.
Sadly, after that it was somewhat downhill, via Escort GT and on to a couple of XR2i.
My mum kept the last white XR2i into her 80s, then swopped for a Fiat Cinquecento Sporting. And she was a better driver than my dad.
She would have loved the Exige. Just as well . . . as it was her dosh that bought it!

my parents went from minis and and an avenger to a couple of cortinas, then 3 mitsubishi galants one of which was a VR4 then a mitsubishi 3litre V6 Sigma and a porsche 924. Mum now has a Boxster S. Mum’s always loved cars, she used to co drive for her boyfriend when she was in her late teens in a mini cooper s, plus she used to swan around in a yellow E type too. Strange that ive never taken her out in the exige, must get round to it some time soon!

Let her drive it…

I was thinking the same…

Bloody Hell, what great childhoods you all had. My parents list of sheds went something like this: (the ones I can remember)

Vauxhall viva
Maxi
cavalier
Citroen BX
Citroen Xantia
Rav4

They currently have a Rav4 and some weird tiny tonka toy thing that is smaller than a smart car!!

I love my parents dearly, but Jesus they have no car taste!!!

I fondly remember the day my dad rolled up in his first new car… a Model T Ford.

Was that one of his last cars

Yeah I was gonna say Pesky, I bet when it was shiny and new you could see your bald spot in the paint!!

yes sean, the guys at track club stuck the bearings in on the press, then put the new flange on top, lowered the press onto it and it just ‘fell’ in to the bearing!!! [/quote]

Heard of quite a few do that.
