My 260 upgrade on the Rollers at Emerald

Maybe of some interest to you guys, I put my Exige on the Rollers at Emerald at the weekend.

Performance Modifications include:

  • 2bular manifold
  • 2bular decat
  • 2bular GT4 exhaust
  • TRD Induction
  • Hi Flow Fuel Pump and Injectors
  • Lotus 260 Cup ECU

It made 263.5bhp / 175lb/ft at 8550rpm and was corner weighted at 900kg with 30L of fuel, making ~875kg dry?

Quite pleased with that, it certainly goes well!

If that is power at the wheels then thats might fine

Hehehe - Sadly that’s at the flywheel, it’s just the Cup 260 upgrade the 220 S deserved

Those figures seem quite conservative to me.
I would expect at least 270 with a manifold fitted.
maybe a hub dyno would read different figures.
Ideally, before and after runs are needed to give meaningful results.
looks a tad on the rich side too … which is quite good , but may be costing a little top end power.(see how it goes rich at 7500 and the power curve has a slight change of shape )
nice car btw … very similar to mine
it will probably lean itself out over a couple of hundred miles and get quicker tho. …enjoy

Thanks, yeah I was kinda expecting 265+, but hey it goes like stink over the 220 before. I have only done about 250 miles in it before it went on the rollers and had to clear a few error codes on the ecu for the Lambda readings, not sure if that would have helped either.

Dave from Emerald said it was on the limit for the injectors, interesting to see how it goes over the next couple of tanks of fuel.

Also pleased with the 875kg dry weight.

Great choice of colour huh!

Is it much louder with the decat than before?
Would u recommend the decat?

I went from a stupidly loud Stage 3 to a ultra track friendly 2bular 8x24 GT3, which was waay to quiet, so I added the decat and the manifold and now it’s perfect

So it kinda depends what back box you have already?

Also note you will need a MIL iliminator kit to stop the Lambda having a fit and lighting up the MIL on your dash.

I have the 2ubular 8x22 oval exit thru diffuser. Standard manifold. It makes a nice note when on the power and it still does a bit of poping and banging on overrun even with the std cat. More poping and banging would be good thou  but worried it would be ear shatteringly loud?

Go for it, only slightly louder, 8x22 with decat will be ace
