Does anyone have an idea of how long the ‘MSA Go Racing Starter Pack’ takes to arrive in the post ? I ordered one on-line yesterday and I have my test a week on monday. I should have it by then shouldnt I ?
Cheers,
Dave.

I think(!) mine was here within a week…
Test is pretty easy, make sure you know all the flags (difference between waved and stationary)… most of the rest is common sense.
What are you planning on racing in, Dave(DSE)?
I need it before next thursday because I need the medical form in the pack. I might phone them to get confirmation.
Is the information on the flags in the pack or is there a good website that covers it ?
Pesky - I am hoping to enter a couple of races in the Caterham R300 via Jonny at Bookatrack. Its expensive (considering what you get its priced ok but its still a lot of money) and I need to decide if its worth it or I should try something like the MX5 series or similar.
Nice one, Dave.
There is no such thing as cheap motorsport…some is just less expensive…
Go for it
If it doesn’t arrive you can download the form here.

Awesome, thanks for that :O) Very kind.
Remember when I took my test - fairly straight forward although I coudln’t for the life of me remember what the national / union jack flag meant
still passed though
pesky’s right - motorsport is expensive not just financially but in terms of time as it does tend to take over - especially if things go wrong and you end up chasing repairs in between events - that said if I could do it again I wouldn’t hesitate ! ENJOY !
Flags are all covered in the Blue book (which you get with the pack) - they are also covered on the DVD you get too.
As said, time as a big factor, especially if you are doing it all yourself.
Richard @ Blink runs in the MX5 series I think - might be worth a chat with him if you start considering that seriously as an option.
Good luck!
Thanks guys.
I talked to Richard tonight about the MX5 stuff. He is racing this weekend at Mallory (I think he said). Sounds like good fun with a full grid and not too expensive if things go wrong.
Just want to get my license done first atm.
Just one more question chaps. How much did you guys pay to take the test ? Bookatrack charge 275, is this good value or not ?
Thanks.

Can’t remember. Few hundred quid. Do remember that one guy failed and was arguing with the instructor about having to pay for the re test, and the instructor made a great comment. “If a couple of hundred quid for the retest is a problem, then perhaps motorsport isn’t for you”.
lol
Ok thanks, looks like its about right then. Hopefully I wont repeat that, do you know what he failed on ?
David
275 sounds very reasonable - is the test at Anglesey?
Those who fail, tend to be those who leave the tarmac, so you will be fine

Yep, on the bank holiday (4th). Cant wait. Just hope I get my pack through in time.
:O)
I know you guys dont really care but …
Got the pack on the Tuesday.
Watched the DVD 100000 times.
Went to anglesey and passed but forgot to get a passport photo done. So it will now be finished via the post.
It was like being back at school, very scary but fun at the same time. Another guy was taking his test with me and he needed it so he can use his F1 car on test days. Lucky, rich, git. Lovely bloke though :O)
Congrats
