MotorSport Roof can i get one

Anybody know if they are available for the Exige I Heard that Lotus are going to put them into production for future Supercharged cars, Dont know if this is true or not But I would like one if anybody knows anything ( Not the CF one on elises )

Saw lots of these at Hethel on Sunday. They appear to be fitted as standard to all LH drive Exiges destined for the States. But they certainly are in full production, so I guess you might be able to order one from the factory.

Also saw the new 2008 colours - one in particular was outstanding - Burnt Orange. Appeared to be a sort of candy orange but much more attention grabbing than even Chrome Orange. Didn’t think that was possible!!

Any luck with this?

I would have thought you could get the part number and order a replacement from Lotus “Someone stole my Exige roof and I need a new Motorsport roof replacement”…

I might be getting a ‘spare’ new Motorsport roof (as per Cup255) in starlight black.

Drop me an PM if anyone’s interested?

Perfect colour… PM sent

Im Interrested

Have PM’d all who’ve asked

I’m very interested now or in the future if you can get ahold of one.

Has anyone seen any data to say that the motorsport roof collects more air than the standard roof and hence is effectively better?

The opening does not look any bigger, but its position may help? IT would seem logical to make the “in” hole much bigger than the original if its going to be an improvement. What you are really looking for is a big hole at the front which gradually reduces in size (“tube diameter”) so that at the point when it gets to the intercooler its much smaller. I think there is an optimum ratio for the length over which the air travels and the reduction in “tube diameter” over this length. The standard Exige "S"one just looks a bit like an after thought…as the original N/A scoop is just for looks and does nothing, so probably has not been optimised.

I bring great news, check out the NEW Exige S with performance pack @ http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/first_drive.php?sid=1266&page=1
could be all you’re looking for? Personally I have a c/f roof from eliseparts.com (1k) fits as good as standard but scoop lets into the entire roof! I have this week drawn up a duct from poly carb, cut and fitted it (sealed in) from the front and it’s perfect. Forgot to do the weight comparison but from feel is loads lighter, will get back to you on that. C/f is good but not perfect, my coming soon stripes should cover the anomalies but all in all its not a bad piece of kit. Someone told me recently that carbon fiber is to men what diamonds are to girls…

Images coming soon

Only 1K?

I’d thought about painting it orange
