SOLD!

There’s been a few for sale recently…is there a technical reason why people are moving away from them now? I see some of the Exige racers have already done so?

Tests (wind tunnel simulation) carried out by Lotus on the GT3 Racecar showed that a smooth engine cover was better aerodynamically. The GT3 cars also had large vents behind the rear wheel arches to enable air from the engine bay to escape. Peeps are presuming that this also applies to the S1, although some are ignoring the extra venting! Personally, I’m very happy with the vented cover, as it allows hot air out of the engine bay very effectively.

Yep… I can see a few heat issues on the Horizon!!!

I think like Pesky says for out and out race cars as long as they are moving fast there is a constant stream of air going in through the intakes which then exits out the back of the car as most run with cut outs in this area; this makes the non vented cover work in this application - but i bet when they finish it has to be removed to allow the heat build up escape whilst stationary…

So it has to be vented for Road and track day use
Smooth cover for race cars only and STD S1’s !! …
