Without wanting to sound cheeky what sort of price was it Sean?

400 and something. I can’t remember exactly.

Sean…

Thanks Sean, think I might put that money into another set of Rimstocks and Yokos first!

But you can sell the polycarbonate one for more than 400, which should give you some cash towards the wheels.

Are the standard engine covers really worth 400 second hand???

Probably a bit more than that, I was led to believe that they were between 1200-1400 new

I think they are in the region of 1.5k new (someone correct me if I’m wrong)so 400+ secondhand sounds right.

Sean

They cost around 1200 new, & are as rare as hen’s teeth - so 400 could well be on the low side…

No wonder the original wasn’t in the bag of bits I got aong with Brendan’s car

So given the choice of buying a second set of Rimstocks or a Motorsport engine cover, which would win?

Surely, only you can answer that!!!

PS Don’t forget that a motorsport engine cover will require painting, & fitting (the latter will require some dzus fasteners, even if you use the existing hinge).

But Sean said his cost 400ish direct from Lotus!!!

Bertone

Motorsport engine covers (unpainted etc) cost around 400 plus vat.

OEM perspex covers are around 1200 (plus vat?)

Ok, sorry for my ignorance but is there a great difference and if so what…and how do they differ other than appearence to the standard S1 cover?

Doh!!!

Sorry chaps…ive just reread this thread…now I understand!

The Lotus Motorsport cover that Sean bought was 400ish plus vat unpainted etc!

The standard perspex one currently fitted was about 1200 new but also possibly worth 400 second hand!

I thought you were talking about 2 different types of motorsport covers, sorry!

Phew, thought it was me going mad(der!)
