Motorsport Elise Vs. Exige

Hi Guys,

Long time no speak, i gave up on the Exige now and own a more practical M3 CSL!

However, my dad has just bought a Motorsport Exige and i was wondering what are the differences over the roadgoing Exige? I drove it at Silverstone last week and it was awesome!

Cheers

Rob

Did he buy it from a dealer near Newmarket per chance ?

MS Elise is a road (& track day) car converted for racing. Exige is a race car converted for road use (& trackdays).

Was that the one on listed on ebay ?

The car was bought from a Plans Motorsport customer, this is the car:

It is a near enough ‘standard’ Motorsport car but out of curiosity wanted to know the depth of changes.

I know it has beefier calipers with brake bias, no handbrake, LSD, datalogging etc. but was wondering on stuff such as the chassis/suspension arms.

Cheers,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Have a look at this thread:-

It even mentions your Dad’s new car!

Brilliant, you are a star!

Just to let you know, the car has - as far as i know - has been looked after by Plans for the last 4 years for the same owner. He has been thinking about selling it for a while as it is used as a car for the owners corporate hospitality company (he runs two Elises alongside). It was considered too scary for the inexperienced and so he relucantly put it for sale…

Not sure who owned it first but I know it spent some of it’s life as Natasha Bell’s car (Father owns Bell and Colvill!) and raced quite a bit in the Lotus Road sports series, which then became the Mid engined sportcar series for several years and won plenty in her hands…apart from whenever Gavan Kershaw turned up!

Haha, thanks for the info, always interesting to know.
