motorsport elise splitter

I call it a chin spoiler but im not sure if people give it all sorts of names.

Ive been trying to work out what happens underneath the car as its claimed to sit 35mm lower than the exige version.

Ive managed to find a couple of photos that show there is a flat splitter sitting flush with the chin.

But if its 35mm lower than the chassis how is it attached, do they use 35mm spacers between it and the crash structure mounting points then having a step in the underbody just after the last 3 bolts running left to right?

I wouldnt have thought so and maybe because the splitter was made of aluminum they just tapered it up 35mm before those last 3 bolts.

Im hoping someone on here has knowledge of this or at least looked underneath one to know what was done.

At the moment it looks like my new splitter will sit out 100mm from the spoiler but then im unsure what others have done, in my head I was going to have the splitter stay horizontal then taper up at 8 degrees to the underbody

The original Lotus setup had a step where the floor plate of the lower chin spoiler bolted to the original floor.
