motorsport ECU ?????

I had a M/S Ecu fitted about a year ago and it has worked well with no problem.

Just had a service done at Lakeside Engineering and on the way home noticed it had reverted to it’s old 6200rpm cam change. Has this happened to anyone else. Could anything done during a service have caused the ECU to go back to it’s old ways ?

Thanks

As far as I am aware this can only happen if the ECU was reflashed, or if it was replaced. Reflashing at a service would be unusual unless you had reported a fault for which Lotus had released an updated map, such as the stalling on coasting problem that the early cars had.

That’s what I thought so was surprised about the cam Change. It was pi$$ing down this morning so I will check again more carefully when weather settles down.

Ask them if they applied any ECU updates. If they did you have your answer and hey should change it for you FOC.

I thought the cam change was happening 500rpm later but this is not the case.

When ignition is on (engine not running) the rev counter reads 500rpm. Speedo also reads 10mph.

When I get to my correct cam change rpm the rev counter reads +500rpm.

Is there a way to re-set the instruments so they start at zero ?

This works on an S1:

[color:“blue”] - Turn off the ignition

  • Open the driver’s door (yes, really!)
  • Press and hold the trip-meter reset button
  • Whilst still holding the reset button turn the key in the ignition to the second position (just before the engine turns)

The Stack will then wind both needles back to below the zero position, and the LCD will show the software revision number. Once it’s gone through the motions your speedo should then read true!

Sorted !

Thanks. You didn’t mention that it only works if you have on eye shut, are wearing purople trousers and it’s an even odd day of the month. I heard on the “S” it only works on even days of the month.

Thanks again
