Most Improved Car Manufacturer..........

…over the last 10 years?

This is not about me btw just wondered what everyone thought  I can recall looking at Citroen and Nissan years ago thinking never ever would I buy one of those :astonished: so went German and nothing but. But not now, I look at BMW and think the same. Ok Toyota are still boring but my Lexus has everything for any occasion. Lotus a big up too…

Skoda

Lamborghini - seriously, the diablo was nearly agricultural to drive, and what else was there the Jalpa or LM 4x4. I appreciate Audi intervention but the Muc’ and Gallardo are utterly accessible and suberb. And ergonomically another world now.

I would vote Lotus but 10 years ago they already were 4 years into the Elise and the reinvention had begun…

Got to agree that Lambo has improved beyond all recognition in the last 10 years.

Drove Russ’s Gallardos over many miles, & quickly came to the conclusion that my physique would not be condusive to a comfortable ownership experience(if only!!!)

Just get some wooden blocks made for the pedals!

Sorted!

See I think Nissan and gone the other way BMW…a Lambo is easy, one model two…come on!

well if its a manufacturer and Lambo with only 2 models isnt enough, it must be VW.

They’ve revolutionised the market appeal and products of Skoda (to poach from Pesky), and along with them own

SEAT
AUDI
Lambo
Bentley
Porsche
Bugatti

certainly 3 of those aquisitions were in the past decade…

Are they now the biggest motoring group?

SEAT-Really
AUDI-Yep maybe but they weren’t that bad
Lambo-nope
Bentley-nope
Porsche-one model  clones
Bugatti- mmm  really really

Still Nissan for me

How can the inhabitants of the Earth ever get better than the Miura !!!??

Agree!!!

I can’t agree on VW. They have mismanaged their brands for a long time producing internal competition over and over again. They where lucky in the crisis with the scrapage schemes of Germany where Polo sales kept them out of trouble. Unfortunately they “forgot” to reorganize as pretty much all other OEM’s did.

I could agree to Nissan although don’t understand why they put their money and effort into the GT-R when they still had highly aging concepts like Almera in production.

Suzuki maybe, who where almost bankrupt before they launched the new Swift. Pretty great car to see and drive. Or Hyundai-Kia who went from hideous cars to pretty nice looking and driving ones.

Ask me in another 10 and BYD, Chery and Geely will be up there

I would of gone with Porsche 9 months ago, a business that as a niche sportscar manufacturer became so profitable it almost brought the giant that is VAG - unfortunately in borrowing to buy, it nearly destroyed itself and VAG brought it itstead…

Yes, indeed

How About Jaguar - I know they were already on the up 10 years ago but still a huge improvement, now regularly top 10 JD power score. Will hope to replace my ageing 320d touring with a 2nd hand XF in a couple of years time - god I must be getting old!!

Also Nissan weren’t that bad 10 years ago - I remember hooning about in a mate’s Primera 2.0 eGT Great fun!

Alski

I would say Porsche had a blip with the 996, the build quality of those isn’t great and the interiors pretty horrible in my opinion. The 997 is a big step back in the right direction though.

I agree with everyone that rates the VW brands. Skoda and Seat represent great value for money I think.

My Seat Leon Cupra R daily run about is a 4 door golf GTi with better brakes and better standard equipment for a fraction of the price. Plus my car at 100k miles is trouble and rattle free.

Lambo also, very nice now. I wouldn’t have one as I would rather have a Rarri but they are great cars I reckon.

I think manufacturers like Ford also produce a great product, a late model Mondeo can be bought for nothing and is a very very solid and well built car, that nothing will fall off and it will keep going for ever, you can’t say that about a lot of the so called premiem brands.

I think Ford have come a long way, the new Fiesta looks fantastic and I came very close to buying an RS and now regret it as they are selling for more second hand now that I would have brought it for. Ford was also the only US brand not to go bankrupt.

Now if they would just only do a Lotus tie up again for a White and Green Lotus Focus

~I guess also MG should get a mention, not that I like them, but to be still selling after all they went through must be a miracle

No body has mentioned Fiat yet, once upon a time you would not touch the rusting electrical nightmares but it recent years they have been some of the most reliable cars (and vans) i have owned.

Wouldnt really agree with the fiat remark…they are still generally horrible and problematic for new cars IMO.

The VAG remarks are full of win though,

Seat, Skoda in particular produce excellent cars these days, i had a cupra r myself and it was one of the best alround cars i ever owned. Same for VW really, to go from the Mk3 golf to the mk5 is a big improvement.

I reckon Toyota are the most unimproved … Especially in the last 3 months…Since I bought my Yaris infact… Had the recall letter last week !!!

Sod’s law follows me through life

Only kidding car is pretty good

No votes for Alfa Romeo? The styling has always been fine and now much better built?

Just a thought…
