more engine thoughts

lots on the board about replacing the original engine with a honda, or adding a turbo etc etc, what about this for an idea… you get two motorbike engines (say suzuki gsxr 1000s) and drop them in"!! why you might ask, well they are very compact, very light (both traditional lotus goals), very powerful(140hp each), tractable and run with smallish radiators…also sequential type gearbox and that would be nice. i know its more hardwork to think about than a straight swap for another car, but so much less plumbing in a bike hmmmmm anyone else thought about this?

Take at a look at what Geary Powell has done, bike engine wise: http://www.eliseparts.com

and he spent in the region of 35K doing it, thats not including labour time [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/shocked.gif[/image]p.s. There is talk of a Cerbera 4.5L going into the next one, the project sounds very interesting [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image][This message has been edited by Phil Davies (edited 21 October 2002).]
