Monza F1 GP

I am thinking of going with the Mrs in a few weeks for our honeymoon(how ive managed this i dont know)
but cant decide on getting general tickets or grandstand ones can anyone offer pro’s and cons please.
And also any advice.

Ohh and is it easy to get a beer

Ive read through loads of old posts on SELOC but not gathered too much info.

Edit:
Also if anyone has any useful booking sites etc, then would be great.
Many thanks.

Don’t know about the tickets, but the beer will be VERY VERY expensive.

Went to Monza last October (Superleague Formula) - flew to Bergamo (interesting sightseeing city), & found that wine was reasonably priced, but beer in Italy is not! Visiting Monza Circuit itself is a fantastic experience, especially the now unused old banked sections.

Milan is a vast sprawling industrial city, & perhaps not worth visiting, apart from the old central area (Duomo & shops in designer fashion area). As said above, Bergamo is well worth visiting/making your base.

Good luck, & enjoy.

Deffo get a grandstand ticket, if you want to see the race.

We went a few years ago with some general admission tickets and unless you take a ladder the chance of seeing any action is very slim as the place is packed out.

If you do then get there early and use the ladder to get up into a tree ( seriously ).

As Pesky says the atmosphere is just incredible though and being close to the circuit by the bridges of the old circuit was really cool, the shock wave as the cars pass under them has to be felt … amazing and to be honest I enjoyed the experience and nostalga more than watching the race !

Last point, parking was difficult and we walked a long, long way to get in …

Oh and make sure you watch the 1960’s film Grand Prix before you go …

Went last year with the Mrs.
Sayed at hotel about 8 miles out and drove in. Got parked inside circuit on friday and saturday but sunday had to park miles out and get shuttle bus to circuit.
Best to have grandstand tickets as with general admission you will be with nose against fencing and wont see big screens.
Beer well expensive aswell aswell as food.
Awesome experience and atmosphere

should probably add La Scala to that list - no not the one on the A59 Rob

Echo everything above, only chance of a good view with a GA ticket is if the Fezza’s drop out, you will have the place to yourself then.

when I went to monza several years ago I stayed around lake como, the drive down to monza wasnt bad at all, then after the race we drove down to ferrari factory and stayed around there, it was the year ferrari had the 1-2 victory so the atmosphere was excellent.
And yes deffo purchase grandstand tickets

Excellent thanks for all your input. Im gonna go for some nice granstand tickets then.
And cheers Pesky managed to find a decent looking hotel in Bergamo with transfers to the track each day. Dont think we will bother with Milan not really into expensive modern shops, prefer more traditional towns and villages.

Nice one, Mark. I’m sure that you’ll enjoy wandering around Bergamo “old town”, as well of course raceday at the circuit.
