My theory is the 5000 start point also tells me it’s time to change down when the lights go out to stay in the power.

Beats me, as I haven’t used it yet on track I’ll just see what I prefer. Start point was cam coming in with the very noticeable lights flashing at max rpm. Although I have a felling I’ll be setting it to 250 rpm points from 6500 eventually.

I have mine set from 5000-7200, I never need to look down any more.
i’d say it’s the best money i’ve spent on the car for track work! I find as the day goes on I judge how much quicker i’m travelling by the light’s lit per corner.
