Mixing tyres ? ao48 lts / toyo r888

Need 4 new tyres. I got a virtually new pair of lts ao48 16" for the front . but dont think I can justify 430 to replace the ao48s on the back, well not for the driving I do anyway . However, I can get toyo 888 for 340 delivered ? will they work ok mixed ?

Had a similar situation couple of years ago.On the road no effect whatsoever.Did one trackday and found with a bit of tyre pressure changes really could’nt tell the difference,at least with my limited driving style.

I’m running 48s on the front and 888s on the rear.
As already said, no problems on road or track.

You’ll adapt to it just fine. I’ve driven this combo and the opposite version also, attitude of the car changes a bit but you can adjust it to your preference via tyre pressures.

Note the R888s don’t deal as well with extended heat cycles.

Have you had alook on cam skill for a new set for the back?

just had a look , no prices for 888 or a048 , ill give them a call . keen prices for other types by the looks of things thanks

You could sell the AD48 on eBay . I got about 100 for 2 front r888 that had half tread. Then use the money to get a set of R888

I like your thinking

Haha. Might make it easier.

camskill no longer a dealer for toyo 888s :frowning:

How rubbish is that. Someone tole me Asda started to sell tyres lol

does anyone know which compound I should go for with the 888s , some places have them listed as 2G , SG , or no description at all ?

2G (or also known as GG) are “Medium” & the ones to go for.

3G is Vodafone, 4G is Orange!

Lol haha

Has anyone had a quote for a full set of AO48 LTS from a dealer recently?
