Missfire with new chip ?

I have just finally had the 192 Upgrade done and yesterday took the car on track at anglesey for the first timeAlthough the car seems to have a better mid range torque half way through the afternoon I had the car just sputter to about 30 MPH with no revs available came in to the pits re started and back to normal but it keeps happening [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]just before this missfire I put a wheel of at the Hairpin quite heavily I now seem to recall something about a wheel sensor Anybody able to tell me where the sensor is (left rear went of)Any advice would be handy as I am hoping to get over after lunch for another session but dont want to do any more harmJohnC

The wheel speed sensor for the ECU could be the problem its on the drivers side rear.I found mine was not quite connected correct - although it looked OK and had to clean the contacts and spray D40 etc to get a good contact. The new ECU puts you into get home mode with a rev limit at about 5800 - switching off and back on again re-sets it until you trip it again - an dyou will if the sensor is not conected - but say goodbye to any pops and bangs on overrun for most of the time now !!

Thanks MinimanI took the sensor out cleaned it took the connector apart seemed very clean put it back together still tripping about every 20 mile or so but it will not rev anywhere near 5000 more like 3000 topsNick Whale have got a new chip in stock and will replace to see if that works but any comments would be gratefully receivedJohnC PS thanks Pesky for the call had a great time at Anglesey could not keep up with the Noble though [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/mad.gif[/image] [This message has been edited by JohnC (edited 28 January 2003).][This message has been edited by JohnC (edited 28 January 2003).]

Try the coil - I have had two go now, both times resulting in a misfire and being down on power. Interstingly the second time it only seemed to be missing on one cylinder, which is a bit bizarre on a wasted spark system…Cheers
