1200 miles, less than 100 since the 1st service and I’ve got a nasty misfire and lost most of the power! And it had been running so nicely. It’s happening from about 2-4000rpm and there is just no power above that.I’m hoping its just something like a loose lead. Could somebody please direct me to them or provide any other ideas.Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]
HiHad a very lot of problems like this. Bought mine in December with 5000 km. Am running now with the fourth ECU (190 hp). There where two new ones from Lotus with missfire problems! We found two further, real errors. First was a sick vacuum switch for that bloody inlet flap. We disconnected the last two ones. (Are sitting on the left side of the motor under the panels). The other one was a defective crankshaft sensor. Here we are not quit sure, if the sensor was mad or was it a bad contact. You may disconnect / reconnect the cable to test it. (Have to demount the 10 cm high alloy-panel between the motor and the boot to get to it.).We are also not sure (but it seemed to be), if it was helpful to disconnect / reconnect the mainplug between the ECU and the motor. (Bayonet joint located (invisible) at the wall between the driver (LHD!) and the motor.)Mine is OK now since about 1200 km HTHThomasPS: Sorry about my English I am fighting against it

Thanks chaps but nobody’s given me the quick fix that will solve my problem in 2 minutes yet! Keep the ideas coming.Battman isn’t plugged in during driving. It seems to be doing its job with the new battery. Battman was getting a weekend sidekick on Saturday - Airflow Man. However, it now looks like Exigey will be at the hospital.Ian
Turned out to be a blown spark plug - good effort Ian!Hopefully the rest will last longer than 1200 miles!Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]
