Saturday saw the car get a new set of Pagid RS14’s and a change of fluid and a ‘basic geo setup’.
The effect was ‘quite an improvement’, so much so that I think that changing the hoses is not required.
Anyone else think/find this ?

Haven’t done it yet, but will be in a week so will give you my impressions.
I just put 42’s in mine (front only) and noticed a marked improvement (for road use anyway).

Do they squeal at all? Is the pedal feel improved or just stopping distance?
Does someone post the part number for the pads front and/or rear?
Front E1587
Rear E1682
Been running RS14 pads with standard brake lines for a while, and for on track wouldn’t use anything else. But after about 25 to 30 mins heavy use the pedal does go soft and I’ve boiled the brake fluid on one memorable occasion
I need to get the braided brake lines and decent race brake fluid sometime soon.
I was thinking RS14s and SRF.
Is that what you did and experienced fade?
I normally do 30 mins+ on circuit and 5 back to back laps on the Nordschleife so don’t want fade.

No, that’s what I should have done. Still using the bog standard DOT4 gunk for fluid. I bleed the brakes after every track day now, and sometimes the fluid that comes out of the caliper is the colour of guinness.
Reckon its because of the higher brake temp generated by the RS14s. So if your doing the Nordschleife with RS14s, then SRF and braided brake lines are a must. IMHO of course

Damon, quite a few peeps have experienced problems with the RS14s & standard rotors on S2 Exiges(severe out of balance, akin to warping). Gav Kirby, in particular, had this, & iirc he now uses RS14s & AP rotors. Drop him a pm for exact info.

Mostly pedal feel is improved and they do squeal a little at low speeds - but retardation on the road is pretty impressive.

I think Gav resorted to RS42’s after problems with the RS14’s on his S2.
RS14’s have been perfect on my S1. It’s probably all that extra weight of the S2 that causes issues
Oh…and shouldn’t need SRF… just a decent quality fluid.

Sorry, dudes, that should of course read “RS42s”

We’ve seen this Stateside with the Cup cars and it has come down to improper or incomplete bedding-in of the RS14 pads, which results in excessive pad “smear/deposits” on the rotors. RS14 pads seem to be resistant to proper bed-in. Bottom-line, you will feel heavy juddering/vibrations under braking, similar to a warped rotor but it’s the pad deposits. Some rotors can be brought back to life if corrective action is taken early – often times, the rotors can not be resurrected.
I’ve picked up some Performance Friction PF01’s to try.
Will let you know how they perform.
