After the fun of the Peak district run, a boring Bank Holiday Monday ended up with me checking out the Cotswold route. The run will start in a car park half a mile outside Stratford-upon-Avon on the A439 (OS map 151 ref 210 558).It then goes south through Mickleton to Broadway (past the tower). South on minor roads and B-roads to the A40 then into the cotswolds proper on narrow roads with good scenery and passes the Roman Villa at Chedworth, then down to Cirencester, and the Lunch Halt at the Cotswold Water Park.Return throught Cirencester, Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-Wold (using more interesting roads than the Fosse Way) , past the Rollright Stones (stone circle)and then past Shennington to the Finish at Halford Bridge Inn on the Fosse Way.The usual timing applies, 10:30-45 start 12:30 lunch 13:30-45 restart and 15:00 finish.120 miles total route. If you are interested then register on the Midlands Run 3 database at:- Yahoo UK | News, email and search Any questions? just ask.Mark A
