I also posted this on SELOC but have any of you guys got any ideas about having to replace both units and where the second one is.
Looks like this is a common problem as I found a quick fix in another thread. But it looks like my immobiliser has given up and died so the question is can I just replace the Meta M36 immobiliser on its own???
I have been told that there is another module M99??? In the dash somewhere and this needs to be replaced at the same time as there a matched pair is that right???
Oh and if it is right is there an easy way of getting to it, I was told its a dash out job
Thanks for any help.
I had to do it on mine. They are a matched pair, so unfortunately its expensive as you do need both… Good news is that you don’t need to take the dash out. Take out your radio, then you can get at it through the hole (it’s on the left).
Cheers
Have the same prob.
Dealer/Car Security guys quote 400–600 to replace…
Is this a DIY job

You can get the Meta m36/m99t2 for 195 on the net, only problems i can see at the moment is matching the new units to the STD key (may not be to hard when you have all the bits in front or you)
Also one place i rang about the alarm said the there is no 12 pin conection block on the immobiliser so it will need to be rewired
Its a crap system anyway, if you know what you are doing it can be by-passed in seconds
If you can wire a plug and follow a diagram, then it’s a DIY job. The hardest bit is getting access.
