Just got off the phone with Jane at AMOC. I had called her to transfer my Oulton Park entry fee to the Donnington round as I had managed to cancel the Oulton round just in time. Only to be told that the Mid Engined Race has been dropped from the Donnington meeting!!!
Jane said at close of entrys on Saturday they only had four people registered so we had been dropped.
Jane also said that they had another race series already in place to take our slot.
I have still signed up for the endurance race, but that is a bit of a nail in the coffin of the MES series if you ask me!!
Being on of the four entries that Sean mentioned - I’m gutted too. I knew thing weren’t going well in AMOCs eyes (People in Astons don’t like being beaten by ‘little plastic cars’ in the endurance race) but I didn’t expect things to take effect until the season was over.
Well I think AMOC are totally out of order. I 'm sure there would have been at least 10/11 cars on the grid for Donni, maybe more, and to drop us before the last race of the season in this manner is just wrong!
I agree with you guys. I think most of us deal with the racing one meet at a time, I know I do. I get home from the meet, assess what I’ve got to fix and if I can fix it in time for the next round, and then get my entry in. I think the problem was the closing date for entries was the 16th, which was the Oulton Park date, so nobody knew if they would even have a car until at least the Saturday night.
I spoke to David Harvey and I guess he has the right idea. He basically fills in all of his entries for the year and sends them all off on day 1 and then simply cancels any rounds the week before (which you are perfectly entitled to do) if his car isn’t ready.
I suggested to Graham (Plans), who does most of the series organzing, that we could try to tag our last event of the season onto one of the other race club events ie MGCC, BARC etc. Don’t know whether this is realistic or not?
This may be bollox, but whilst lying awake, this idea came floating across my mind!
Not had a chance to fully read the bumph, but could 4 of you get a “team” together, & approach AMOC, with a view to an entry in the Intermarque Race at Donington? Alternatively, would they allow “individual” entries, if there is room on the grid?
I have just scanned the regs in the link you posted and the biggest problem is that it states that the engine must be of original type fitted to the car. That would rule out all of the Honda and Audi folks as far as S1’s go.
Just to let you know I have spoken to AMOC re the Intermarque. The answaer was a definitive “no” to Lotus in the Intermarque. There is a long history behind this (Lotus used to be allowed, but always came 1st, 2nd and 3rd…)

the thing that puts me off is that I’ll only have 30 mins to set my car up, I thought there was a test day on the friday, so was going to spend the day setting up. with the cost of the endurance race and amoc membership fee, my money will be better spent with a day of testing before.
come to Abbeville on the 1st Dec for testing with LOTRDC
