me old car bk for sale....£20k WTF??

just thought id say hi to me old pals on here.

noticed (as prob u have) me old car is on pheads…20k!!!

i let it go for just under 16k…and i suppose i ca own up now (as i aint sellin it) car stood me @ 13k so i aint bitter its up for more but want folks to know what their buying as the chappy who is selling has missed these important factors…cat c and its an elise on the v5…i was honest…bit dissapointed he aint being thats all

Thats not good for anyone…

Id be sending him an Email to see why hes not disclosed the history of the car on his PH advert and if he doesnt come back with a good answer then just post on every forum about it …

In fairness the ad does link to the exiges thread on the car, and you dont need to be a rocket scientist to see its an Elise and a crash damaged donor at that.

But think he’s dreaming price wise, obviously you put massive time and effort into it, but as you said it comes with drawback come resale…

 the write up says it’s cat ‘d’ but you now say it’s a ‘c’

Shame I never had the cash to buy it, really would lov a Honda SC Exige… No cash just now :frowning:

I’m guessing that the lack of response means it was cat c.

What are the actual implications, can’t be insured? Just asked on Seloc about a different car oddly enough…

cat c and d can be insured and driven

only cat a and b are not allowed on the road[/quote]
Thanks M7EXG - love that avatar btw, need to see that colour on the road

hi exigers,

mitch here, coming out of winter hibernation…

who did the honda conversion and subsequent supercharger fitting and mapping?

I am kind of interested in this car…

thanks
mitch.

Do a search for posts by “redhairsucks”

thanks mr p, tried that…

all i found out, was that the honda conversion was “carried out”, which does not enlighten me to who’s worthy conversion, or who’s kit it is…

He did the conversion himself, nice chap there is a full build thread on here

As Middo says, although I think it ended up being a “bitsa” kit, & therefore may (or may not) prove difficult to easily get technical support for.

Caveat Emptor springs to mind.

well its sold now…anyone here?

I did enquire after the car and it has gone to italy if all goes accordingly…

so need to find another 300hp exige-like thing to play in…

Mitch - its back for sale again, noticed its back on Pistonheads whilst having a mootch there earlier…

any questions inbox me…not on here often as i mega busy with work n with not owning the car now dont really have much need to gut myself and remind myself its not mine any more lol.

quickly the conversion was origionaly taken from tony blackburn but i had another chap throw loads of bits away n start again. it honestly is a good kit. loom was the nuts, ecu spot on, engine slotted in nicley and i had no probs once the map were sorted. good car…only reservation i had was the handling as i never got it 4 wheeled…as i needed to space wheels correctly first n just never got round to messing with it. tbh though…seems a little exspensive but hey, only stood me @ 13k so cheap car for me…
take car…ill be back one day…xx

If I was after a cheap Exige look this car would be at the top of my list, as you copare it to the price of the original cars with SC hondas it is dirt cheap and is basically the same car, it only lacks long term residuals, but I doubt it would loose a lot either.
