What sealant is recommended ?

I would have thought none, Just the gasket should be fine 
I was thinking that, but Jim said a smear of something "he forgot what it was " would be beneficial??
clean gasket only, no smearing
Yea that’s what I did in the end .
Loctite 5920 for this. The manifold has such a large bore compared to std that the crush rings on the gasket won’t be compressed.
