Mallory Park

Just noticed Book a Track have a track day at Mallory Park in November. One of my favourite cicuits and only a couple of miles from where I live. Anyone going ?? I think it would be great for Exiges !

Apart from the noise limit of 98db!!!Most Exiges (190, de-cat & supersports exhaust) are closer to 105db.Shame [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/frown.gif[/image]

Pesky - don’t you have one of those bolt on aftermarket silencers? I was thinking of doing a few more trackdays and wondered if this was going to become a necessity?

Apparantly these bring the dbs down to about 100!As I’ve had no trouble recently at Oulton Park (fortunately they think max revs are around 7K, so noise is tested at 5000rpm) where the limit is 105, so I’ve decided not to buy the pipe - yet!!!PS Glad to hear you had a great Euro trip [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]Do you find that your engine revs at around 2000rpm when you lift off the gas whilst on the move? Mine has started doing this since the new ECU was fitted, although it ticksover at between 1100 & 1400, when stationary!!! PPS I’ve now also got a nearly new front A039, if you want to make me an offer [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image][This message has been edited by Pesky (edited 01 September 2002).]

The noise testing at Mallory is very vague. We have been informed though that it will only be a drive-by test so this may work in your favour.AndyBookaTrack.com

I went to Mallory earlier this year - 190 with normal exhaust. Don’t remember the noise issue even being raised and I’m sure there were some noisy beasts there.

I am a regular visitor to Mallory and from what I’ve seen and heard I really don’t think we would have much of a problem there. There is some really loud stuff down there on practice days. F1 cars used to practice there prior to Monte Carlo !

I was at Mallory a few months ago courtesy of Nick Whale’s. Noise was not mentioned once. My car has the full set of noisy upgrades, no problem.

Not really found that, although it has “stuck” a couple of times at about 2k but always resets itself.PPS I’ve now also got a nearly new front A039, if you want to make me an offer [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]That’s the 2nd posting Ive seen for used AO39’s…I think I can fit a few more in the garage![This message has been edited by Pesky (edited 01 September 2002).]

SteveGive me a ring in the next week so we can arrange to meet up - ta [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

PeskyI have a Eliseparts silenced cat pipe and Janspeed supersports - will be at Angelsey - dont know if you get tested there but it may help make a comparison ?My idle seems to be erratic with new ECU at 1100 - 1400 and sometimes shoots up to 2000 on start up but settles itself - must be an emissions thing ?BUT - the idle was rock steady at 1200 when I was really thrashing it last week - it went back to its old self as soon as you “potter” around a bit ( ie not at 7K all the time )HTH

MinimanThanks [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]I’m not aware of any formal noise testing at Anglesey [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

But they are only allowed 2 “noisy” days a week, according to Mr Walker[This message has been edited by RussT (edited 04 September 2002).]
