Anyone bought the official Lotus watch?
If so, any thoughts?
Im also looking for a U Boat ‘Thousand of Feet’ watch with orange numerals in a silver or black casing if anyone knows of a preowned one lurking anywhere?

They look nice, but they are huuuge, otherwise I would have bought one myself
I have got one. Loved it at first, but then found it a bit heavy… The Orange paint doesn’t last long and then it looks a bit cheap

I used to own a Uboat watch - 53mm. It was massive and I loved it! Try www.watchuseek.com. The guy Ernie who runs this site sells them.
To be honest, I bought a uBoat when the movement was Jap and now they are Swiss and cost heaps more. If I was you, I would be looking to buy an Omega (perhaps a Planet Ocean) second hand. Lot’s of bargains out there and they aint really too expensive new. Try:
Perhaps try and get a used Rolex?

Thanks Gareth,
Ive already got a Rolex Submariner, Omega Seamaster and a Cartier Santos not to mention too many Tags, I just wanted something really different for a change and those U Boats seem to fit the bill, Bell and Ross are another intersting watch maker, but youre right they dont make the U Boat quartz movements anymore, theyre all Swiss now and therefore have hiked the price up accordingly.
The one im after is 1850, quite steep for what is essentially a ‘fashion’ watch!
Get yourself one of These mate
(I have just got the one at the LH side, to add to the collection )

You could always buy my Submariner…‘vintage’, well not exactly but it from the first year of manufacture 1989, with box and valuation certificate from Berrys Jewelers!!!

I’m confused - bought my Submariner new in 1983, for the princely sum of 400! And it wasn’t a new model by any means then, either

Sorry Pesky should have said, mine is the date version, presumably yours is the non date version? Or if you do have the date version you must have model no 1680 or 16800, very collectable and only produced til 1989 I believe, then came the 16610 and still manufactured today!

It’s non date (bit like me!), but I’ve not got a clue of the model number It’s also had a hard life, so it’s not “pristine”, & probably not worth a lot!

Still a classic watch though Rob, always nice to have and as worn by Roger Moore, Sean Connery and George Lazonby in the Bond Films before Omega took over!

I’ve still got me de-mob suit too
