OK, I’ve checked, and we still have some places available if anyone is interested. For those that don’t know Anglesey, it has an interesting layout and extensive run-off areas. We have exclusive use of the circuit, and personal tuition will be provided by the local race school’s ARDS qualified instructors for those who want it. We will have one of our qualified technicians on hand to assist with any problems that may arise, a full complement of track marshals and paramedics, and a recovery service. Once registered, you will receive an information pack containing a track day information sheet, a circuit location map, a map of the circuit itself, details of local accommodation, an agenda for the day, and joining instructions. Also, we’re offering a free 25-point safety check to participants to ensure that their cars are in tip-top condition prior to the event. The cost is 125.00 including VAT, which includes the tuition, lunch, and refreshments throughout the day. If anyone wants more details, please let me know.As an aside, we are hoping to have the BBC Top-Gear crew there on the day, including Tiff, doing the filming for a track day piece they are hoping to run. TonyWhat are the odds of you letting Tiff have a blat in your pride & joy? [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]
Precisely nil! I don’t fancy the resulting c. 1000 bill for tyres!
What’s all this “we” business Tony.What/Who are you part of / involved with ?
pay attention David……Tony’s involved with Ian Kinsey…Im sure he posted here a while ago
Dave, until recently, I have been no more than a long-standing Lotus enthusiast, but in March I purchased the assets of Kinsey Jones Limited from the liquidators and financed a new company called Ian Kinsey Limited. There are three directors: Ian Kinsey, Ken Sexton, and myself, although I am only part-time as I have other fish to fry (not motor trade related). I have two main wishes for the company. Firstly, I want to offer a level of servicing that meets my extremely high standards, which is something I have not found in a main dealer to date, and I have dealt with a number. Secondly, I want to build up a motorsport side of the business, and in that respect we hope to be running in the TOCA / Elise Sport Challenge before too long. This side of the business will be offering race set-up, track prep, etc. for road cars and race cars, which is a service that can be very hard to find.Just for clarification, my only association with Kinsey Jones Limited was as a customer, having bought two new cars from them. I am aware that some people were not too happy with Kinsey Jones, but knowing the full story as I do from the inside I can assure you that their problems were almost entirely due to the lack of product from Lotus. Despite having one of the largest Lotus order books in Europe (some say the largest), and despite being involved in the development of the new Elise, KJ, like the other dealers, didn’t receive a single new car from Lotus for the best part of 9 months. I think most would agree that it’s difficult for a franchised car dealership to stay afloat under those circumstances! The track day was organised by me, as a non-profit making event (in fact even with the full quota of cars we will make a loss) in order to promote the fact that we are operational. Unfortunately, due to the foot-and-mouth crisis, we were only able to promote the event at very short notice, too short for a lot of our customers, hence the above post. Do you have an issue with posts such as the above from commercial organisations, because if you do then obviously I won’t make such posts in the future?
I did Steve, but I’m far too polite to point that out! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]
blah blah, you think I read my own BBS ? I’ve got better things to do… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]Only joking lads.Sorry Tony, must have missed that bit of info the first time around. Thanks for filling me in.Perhaps there’s some way we can help each other …
