Lotus Survey.......Come on take part!

Is your car a keeper…Yes

Would you buy another as trade in or garage partner…Partner either S3 or an Elise S2

Reason…Share with my kids, Lotus.

If i had the space and ’s i’d love to keep Grellow alongside the Evora, but the reality is that is simply not possible. Still, i am a very lucky guy and hope that the Evora is a keeper. Partly due the cost (which is considerable for me, and limiting my ability to change)and partly because it ticks evry box none of my previous Lotuses have (although they’ve all be great for one reason or another).

If there ever comes a day the Evora becomes unaffordable (e.g. in retirement, a long way off yet) i’ll go back to something more basic for a nice run out.

Sherman can’t wait to try out the back seat of the Evora

Unlike Mrs Marra

My Exige will come to the grave with me.

I could be convinced to team it up with an S3 potentially, will see once I’ve had a test drive!

Reason… Nothing I’ve driven, including a Porsche GT3RS is anything like as pin-sharp around a track as the Lotus.

My S1 is a keeper. Will only be accompanied by another S1 if prices drop again. No S2 and for sure no S3. Sharing garage space with a Scania at the moment

My car is a keeper, unless I find my perfect S1 where as I will try to own both

I would hate to see my S1 go. I like my S2, but once my S1 is back on the road I doubt I will use it much, so it will possibly go up for sale then.

I’m not emotionally attached to my S2. My S1 is another story, I dont mind admitting I would talk to it while I was racing.

Fixed that for you

Is it just your own you talk/shout at?

I have this image of Robert Duvall from Days of Thunder.

Is your car a keeper…only had mine for just less than 12 years…so still making my mind up.

Would you buy another as trade in or garage partner…Partner - being strangely drawn to the V6.

Reason…can’t take it with you.

Yes

No

??

Keeper yes
Tough if the right numbers came up would partner with 211 S1 S3 etc and get a race transporter.
Share with friends.

The S1 will never be sold.

Whatever garage / drive combination I have will always be full of cars that I want that I can not quite afford. That includes some Loti / Loti replicas.

S1 is a keeper…no question. It’s found it’s final owner.

If I could afford it, a S3 Exige would join it, but Mrs B would like an Elise.

Reason to keep(?)…I’ve not found a better looking car, I may end up entombing it in the garage with a large glass screen and lots of lights, a few on board videos playing on a loop on the wall, and a huge sound system with the war cry of the VHPD wailing in the background.
Or hand it over in a will to my unborn kids.
Either way, I’ve made a pact with myself to remain lithe enough to get into it when I’m old and grey.

Kurt

S1 forever!

Reasons:

  • The last true road going racecar with a roof. In the vein of Ferrari’s ‘Race on a Sunday, sell on a Monday’. I drive it there (in any weather) drive it round and drive it home.

  • You guys

Usually…these days

Keeper yes, most definitely…

Trade in no, but I love cars so will have more if / when I can afford them. Can hardly complain having an exige as a toy though!

Reason - wanted an exige since they came out, love my car a bit more than I should - can just look out of the window at it as well as drive it… What else comes close in terms of drivability, fun and a (very) small hint of practicality?
