I am sure that the white car that could be seen under a cover in the factory 2 years ago was the same as this one.
A shame it is just a one-off car…

Just heard from B&C that there’ll be an Exige Type R to be launch at the Autosport Show this weekend.

Yep, that’s what the S2 Exige should have looked like. I guess the rear spoiler isn’t MoT/SVA safe, but that could be narrowed slightly.

Those wheels have to go… very kit-car. (or can we have them in black ?)

I’d love to get my hands round the neck of the person that signed off the S2 design.

What say we flood-mail Lotus to put it into production ?

Thats one of the only cars in the world i’d trade my exige in for !!!

Seeing as the chasis is mainly the same, wonder if body panels will become available for the S2

It’s goooorgeous!!!

If they did a slightly toned down fibreglass bodied car looking like that with 250-300bhp and priced it around 40 grand, I reckon Lotus would really be onto a winner.
The wing may not pass SVA rules, but it could easily be made a dealer fit standard option.

On second thoughts, why don’t they just make the standard S2 look like that, save a bit of weight and keep the price at 30 grand? I’d buy one, even though I haven’t got the money

Never mind the body panels, that the least important of it.
It’s got a V6, Hewland sequential gearbox, 400BHP, serious brakes and Ohlins suspension, and if I red correctly it was for about Noble-money!

Agree fully. I would trade my car for this one.
Heck, I would even trade myself for this one!

Don’t know why Lotus can’t commercialize this one.
Hope they do, even if I can’t couldn’t afford it.

As it’s a one off commission, they’re not giving a price, but think about the cost of adding a race spec 3 litre V6, hewland sequential gearbox, bespoke carbon body by the guys that did the Bentley Le mans car etc onto the price of an Exige. I can’t imagine getting any change from 70 grand, and I could imagine it being a lot more than that unless they can sell quite a few of them.
