Yep the SAAB - Youngman deal didn’t end happy ever after
Hmmm no suprise really, the way it was being set up was to appeal to the status demanding nuvo rich Chinese. Hence all the blah blah marketing, you cant argue that Lotus’s profile is quite high right now.
SAAB deal failed because GM didnt want the Chinese to get all the intellectual property rights held by SAAB … so they killed it.

Only new thing I learned from that article was the involvement of KPMG.
This as in a previous article almost word for word:
“As of today, DRB-Hicom has identified one of Proton’s senior management personnel to take up a position in Lotus Group in an effort to strengthen its management,” it said."
and I did wonder whether this was a slight pop at the current Lotus management with DRB-Hicom identifying a weakness or whether they just wanted a man on the inside to report back to them.
