For those that dont know i have the 320bhp Audi conversion (ihi turbo etc) and would like to have ago at the race series next year, i know this years only just started. What i am trying to find out is can i de tune the Audi engine to meet the 250bhp limit for class b using the ihi still? Can i run class b with the Audi engine? I just dont fancy going against the likes of sean b etc on class c as my car wont be as well sorted as his (he spends far to much on his car for the likes of me to match eg 4 pots front 2 pots rear) i will aim to run pagid rs14 pads, ap discs, single way nitrons ect. Basically class a spec but with more power. If not i might just get a standard elise and run class a. Any advise would be great.

5.7.3.4 Forced induction is not permitted in class b for all cars except the factory specification S2 Toyota Exige/Elise and 2-Eleven. However, drivers who ran in class B in 2007 may ask for their cases to be reviewed on an individual basis to be granted exemption.
i might just have to look into doing class c then. ill get some lap times off sean and see how far behind ill be then, i dont want to look silly and be miles behind. Are you going to enter class c next year dave?
Nah…Class B for me for a few races this year, will see how I enjoy it and perhaps do more next year (still class B I’d imagine).
I think you will struggle to get down to the power with the IHI Chris, as the boost creeps up at high RPM, due to the exhaust housing being horribly restrictive and generally poo!!
As far as lap times go, I was 1 tenth of a second off Randy in the 1st race with a 51 second lap.
The power limit in class C is 290BHP AT THE HUBS!!!, not the wheels and not the flywheel, but the hubs, measured on a hub dyno. With my car I get loads of boost low down to get the torque up and get to the power limit early, then I tail the boost off as the revs go up. At the limiter I am only using about 10psi of boost to make the power limit, and your IHI just isn’t that controlable in my opinion.
