Lotus Honda Exige S2 N/A –Track / Fast Road / Race /Rally

After spending 18 months building my ultimate spec Exige I really didn’t expect to be writing this advert  I’ve been offered a very interesting overseas work opportunity for a couple of years so rather than store the Exige I’ve decided to sell it.

Some of you might have seen the car on the Exiges trackdays. It was also MarcP’s car a few years ago. It’s a pretty rapid machine. The mix of NA Honda power and lighter weight than a regular S2 enables it to match the pace of the supercharged Toyota cars on track, it’s highly addictive!

Here’s the spec…

this car is epic, although I nearly vomited in it at brands hatch.

S2 exige but with the ‘right’ engine if you ask me, especially as it’s gunna be a solid 100KG less than a 'yota SC car.

Good luck with the sale, and the new job? Where you headed?

Tim back away from the keyboard fella

Hey Wes, a tough choice mate but the right one I’m sure. I hope it goes well buddy, the very best of luck

Great car and not in anyway pink!

Don’t forget free garage space in York. Might even get washed!

Fixed that for you Gareth. There’s a fee for babysitting it if it doesnt sell

I am sure the fitting fee for a Sadev could be agreed. Might need a rebuild when you return though!

Price reduced to £25,000

Last chance to buy it before it goes into storage!

Hey John Stone was interested when I last spoke to him…he told me! Be good to get him on here…

It would be a welcome change for him, I hear that he spent more than the price of my exige on gearbox maintenance last season for his Skoda WRC :frowning: . It is an incredibly rapid machine though when it’s on song.

He should have both in his stable. Wet loose Tarmac, take the Skoda. Dry Tarmac, take the exige )

Sold :astonished:

Anyone I know lol?

Ha, wasn’t your man. It’s gone to a new home in Time Attack, should be perfect.

It was going well today Wes at Oulton, though not as sideways as usual.

that must run in the class jamie used to?

It now runs in club class in the rwd class but against forced induction cars too. I have known the new owner Dave since starting Time Atack a few years ago and he’s a really nice guy, but has never been near a Lotus. He’s just given up on his 700bhp Focus due to loads of problems and I have him some info on the Honda cars. This car seemed like a good starting place for what he wants to do.

Unfortunately the nearside rear shock broke after several laps during testing on friday and lost all compression. I managed to get Geary to bring over some Quantum single way rears on Saturday for him so that he could compete.

Also during testing the engine cut out and then wouldn’t start again which Dave’s team couldn’t fix. So while I was fixing my car Scuffers went over, diagnosed the problems and fixed it. I think the wiring just needs carefully checking over and some replacing as some of it has seen better days!!!

Anyway, it seemed to be going well and Dave really loved it. I think you’ll see some fairly major changes being made to it over the winter, as he’s got pans to give it some more poke etc.

He’ll need “pots” then, for those pans!

Thanks for the photos TC, great to see the car in action.

Jamie, thanks for the last miniute help with the spare dampers. I was really disappointed when I got he call from Dave on Friday to say that the NSR had lost its damping. That NSR damper had only just come back from repair at the distributors, the banjo had came loose after the last event. I’m sure they’ll sort it as the service has been very good so far from Aurok.

If Dave’s getting his development intel from you then I’m expecting great things next spring! While he’s doing the winter mods I would agree that there would be a benefit to modifying the wiring, maybe he can get away with one ECU and rationalise the wiring into a lightweight harness.

Importantly Dave told me that he had lots of fun on his Exige debut. I think he’s a convert :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m glad he got to run the car in the end. It’s a bit embarassing when you sell a car in good faith (that’s done 5 events without issue) and it throws a couple of faults the next day! I’m pleased he was still smiling though at the end of the day.

time attack does seem to be a jinx on cars though!

“I ain’t never been near that car”
