Stunning looking car and good luck with your sale. Please just ignore my next comment as your English is far better than my French ever will be but your translation has just had me laughing out loud. it is however easy to understand what you are trying to say if you read it a couple of times.
Putting an Audi in an S1 would be mega quick… but that would also happen if you put an Audi in your S2 mate!
I went back to an S1 because driving an S1 is more about the whole experience, not about being especially quick! My S2 was MUCH quicker but my S1 brings me a much more overall enjoyable drive… IMHO of course!
Love the S1 but could not live with the potentially fragile K Series, would rather have a sensibly performing Audi Turbo which is likely to be more reliable.
I wonder how much longer story of potentially fragile K series will hang around for!!!
FFS, a few blown head gaskets seem to have given so many peeps the ‘yips’ about such a great engine!!! Surely it is now time to move on from that mindset!!!
It is lightweight, as Lotus wanted, produces good torque and power, sounds great and asde from seeing Ian’s throw lots of steam at Anglesey a few years ago, I have yet to see one display any fragility!!! And it is so well suited to the S1 driving experience and character, that probably attracts you to the car in the first place!!!
Funny, it was my Toyo S2 that let me down with an oil leak!!!
Not a can of worms mate as we all have our opinion! Mine is that the K is a great engine and properly modded will give many years of service! Esprits car is a great example, especially listening to the way George drives the nuts of it!
Crikey, Steve, didn’t realise you’d put 37k on it. I’ve just passed that and according to some it’ll need a “refresh” at 40. Better start saving, eh?
And, Pete, you are so right. The car is so right with its little buzzing K
Edited to remove derogatory reference to engine experts
i did say “potentially”… sadly it is just the way I see them, I did have a VHPD in my Sport190 and spent most of my time worrying if it would expire or not, it never did and i put 15k miles on it in 2 years, I would just rather have an Audi turbo in it with a reasonably sensible amount of power
