LOTUS ELISE/EXIGE (K-Series) Complete Oil System

First of all, the only reason I am selling it is because I decide to go for a conversion. There is nothing wrong with any of the parts of this system. I guarantee it is in a perfect working order, just like new (I could say even better!).

Now, about the system; what it includes (new prices):
QED Dry sump kit (Dry Sump, Oil Pump, Oil tank) (~1930)
Goodridge Kevlar or S/S Braided (most) hoses and proper (AN) fittings (most crimped) (about 600) + a few Arequip rubber hoses (where temperature is not an issue).
Mocal Remote oil filter (with threads for oil pressure switch and oil pressure gauge) (~30)
QED windage plate (55)
Mocal Oil Cooler (60)
Heat shield fabricated especially for the Elise chassis (10)
Weld on AN adaptors to the tank (no push in ones) (60)
All proper mounts for everything
I will include a quick release fitting (250 alone) for the oil pressure gauge and the gauge (50 inc fittings and hose)
Oil catch tank + breather (60)
Fabricated aluminium tube in order to avoid tight angles to the flexible hoses (in a particular point) (10)
Modified original oil pump (so you can just replace and keep yours) (~100)
Pulleys and two belts (10 each)
Finally, the rather most important bit (in some cases of course), the J-B Weld epoxy adhesive (10)

A few of you know that I have experienced a few issues with this system, due to a leak. In a few castings of the Rover block, there is a square cut (which does not do anything ). Using the J-B weld you will have to fill this cut so you wont have the same problem. To be honest, Ive tried to do this today, but unfortunately I have to remove the whole engine (solid manifold you see). I am sure you can feel my frustration! So, Ive decided to give it up and sell everything (there is already a friend who will buy the VVC engine and the Quaife gearbox ). Believe me, if I wasnt 100% sure that this system is working in a perfect way, I would never sell it.

Everything is ready to be installed (as soon as I remove them from my car of course!).
If you would like to build this system, the min you would spend is 3200 (plus many hours for the circuit design, hoses and fittings order and fabrication). I am looking for 1500 (or 1350 without the quick release fitting and the pressure gauge).

Converting to what, George?

I am between two options. First choice (the easy way) is Honda S/C. The other one (the difficult way) has never been done before (AFAIK) and will rather not say until I am confident it can be done!

Fair enough, mate - best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

something light no doubt…Mazda rotary??

Well, to be absolutely honest Gavin, I am not sure about how light it is! It should be one of the lightest in it class thou, due the fact that is all aluminium. It sounds wonderful and has a lot of potential!
But, like I said, I am not sure if it fits, yet! On the other hand, as my friend Tony says, it is just an engine, so I cant see why it cant fit!
But, before I do anything, I have to sell all the stuff I dont need.

For better understanding of the system:

And a couple of pics in orderto see what was the problem I had and how it has been solved.
Some of the Rover blocks have this square cut:

During cornering, oil can escape through that cut. The solution is easy, by appling a little JB-Weld, in order to fill this cut:

Job done!

You know you cant have a better oil system in your Elise/Exige if you are using the rover engine. Some BHP increase is possible, too.

Not for sale anymore, as i’ve decided to stay with the K-Series for a bit more.
Cheers
