Lotus ECU Unlocked

I have a Syvecs ECU that was mapped by Ryan from SyVecs, Its very very good. Great cold start and drivability. ECU and adapter loom was about £1500 + vat plus mapping. I am sure John will be more than happy to supply an ECU with a good base map so that its just a final dyno that needs doing. I will be happy to let anyone have a copy of my map if you need one…

I’d be interested in this commercially, whilst its likely that we’ll always run aftermarket / Motorsport ECU’s for racing I think this product has a lot to offer the road and track day market. Phil, please drop me an email with how you are planning on dealing with it commercially.

This is sounding good for me, might give me an option when I later get my engine dealt with

For commercial info, please email me. Contact info is on my website.

There’s a long thread on the SW here… Have to sift through some of the emotions of folks, but a fair bit of info :

The irony! This took a long time…wish I knew someone who,d done this years ago! ;D

He’s at it again, it’s worse jargon than “going forward”, “blue sky thinking”, “pushing the envelope”. I must be a Luddite!

Apparently EA are now doing a mapping software with a dongle to go with your ECU ~£800 I might well be giving them a call

post up if anything comes of it ade

You’re kidding right ?

I could have sworn Frank had contributed to this thread. Where are his posts???

I guess the ship is sinking…

I also saw Frank posts saying this was a game changing break through.

Indeed !

Not sure what’s happened, but not liking the missing posts.

This is very timely for me… I have an manual throttle car with an Essex Katana kit that was dyno’d with 213 at the hubs… equating to ‘about’ 230 at the flywheel… bit more grunt than a std Exige S - went to Surrey RR the other day and got 211 at the flywheel on that dyno, a std Exige S usually has about 220 on that system… therefore I 'seem; to be down 20ish hp… Took the car to Essex yesterday to check nothing was wrong, which they couldnt find anything obvious… They started to talk about comparing dyno’s etc… but to me… if on the Essex dyno I had more power than a std Exige S and now on a different dyno, I have less… I have lost power. Based on other comments and what I have heard, maybe the map is the issue…

There are a number of options… Syvecs, Eliseparts, TDI and Essex own standalone. The first 3 are in the 2K zone and this seems lower than that, but also Essex do a standalone as someone mentioned for about 800… so suggestions/comments ? anyone had any similar experience ?

Stick another 5psi pressure in your tyre pressures, & job’s a carrot/simples.

Don’t get hung up on rolling road figures - just use them to compare “before & after” mapping/mods comparisons, not for “absolute” power figures.

Could admin clarify why Frank’s posts have disappeared ?
First time in 5 years I’ve known this
